Welcome to my first post in my new home! I wanted to create a blog where I could go on and on and on about knitting without sending my civilian friends into a catatonic state. First up, have a look at what’s on my needles:

The project du jour is Seaton from RYC Coast:

Seaton 3

I just started this on Tuesday and I am loving it. The yarn is RYC Cotton Jeans and it’s really drapey and smooth and beautiful. I’ll probably finish the back today.

I suspect that it’s been so pleasant to work on since it come in the wake of this:

Phildar Swing almost finished

This is the Phildar Swing Jacket From Hell. I feel like I’ve been working on this since nineteen tickety two. Despite the fact that all of the knitting and most of the seaming is done I can’t consider this finished because I’m waiting for the twill tape to come from Australia and the buttons to come from the States. As for the twill tape I ordered it in lime:

bluish / purple:

and decided to throw some double sided ribbon in there for good measure:

I figured that since it was coming such a long way and I was paying the hefty shipping it would be good to have a few options. Any preliminary opinions? I will be very, very pleased to lay this puppy down. I am worried that it won’t really be swingy. Although, that might not be the worst thing in the world given my birthing hips.

My Visa hurts:

I got elann’s preview e-mail and I’m now looking for secret audio bugs in my apartment because they are introducing their own line of alpaca that has the same gauge and colours as the Reynold’s Whiskey and Drops Alpaca that I have been DYING to get my hands on but at half the price. Problem is it isn’t available until September 18th. I can’t wait that long! Please keep your hands off the charcoal until I get enough for the Shetland Shawl Turned Vest. I’ll also need to pick some up for the Enid Cardigan. I’m looking forward to choosing my own colour palate as I’m not much of a brown / yellow / orange person. I’m thinking perhaps a purple main colour with some lime green in the yoke but beyond that I’m not sure.

Lately I also feel my life is incomplete with out Louet Gems in this beautiful Willow colourway:

and Berroco Peruvia in the made for me colour:

although I have absolutely nothing in my Ravelry queue appropriate for these yarns.

So, that’s it for my inaugural post. I must go check mail and see if my Rowan Felted Tweed is in from the U.K.
